A post election message that we all should read...

This is the message that I think all schools should be sending right now.  It is so important to keep community tight during times like these.  It's important to help students highlight the potential progress that can be made...not the rock bottom and dark doom that is creating such hatred and violence.

  1. I agree; this is a message that many people should read. It is often so much easier to focus on how awful things are, instead of progress that could be made. This will be a trying four years for the United States. Education is so much more important, because it is these students in the future who will make more decisions for our country.

  2. Lori this is a great message sent to the Wesleyan University students. I agree that this election has heightened feelings of alienation and vulnerability. Opening a dialog of conversations with people that do not share the same views or political ideals is important not only to show empathy and understanding, but to put a human face to the community in that wants inclusivity, and a context of fairness. It is much harder to demonize a person that voted for the other side when they are a person you know and respect. In the end, our system was built on checks and balances and I believe Mr. Roth was trying to assure the student that our system would collapse or revert to a more chaotic time.
